Craftin' & Carvin' at the Legion 3rd Annual Arts & Craft Fair and Chainsaw Carving Competition - May 7, 2016 from 9:30 am - 5 pm - Our annual fundraiser event has evolved over the past 6 years from a yard sale/BBQ fundraiser, to a yard sale & fish fry, to an annual arts & crafts fair. With 40 food and craft vendors, the past two years has been very rewarding for our fundraiser. Due to the success of the Chainsaw Carving Competition we are having it again this year! The MAD HATTER, Mal McEwen, will once again be heading this up. This year we are adding a parade to our annual event. Children's activities, hosted by the Post, available in Post building. Entrance Fee $5 for adults, $3 for 12 and over, 12 and under free. Interested in volunteering? Please contact Peggy Wilson @ 229-887-9343. First Responders Recognition Dinner - September 12, 2016 @ 6 pm - This is a dinner to recognize our local civilian First Responders who serve in the line of duty. These are the ones that first respond in our time of need, and we here at Morton-Richardson want to recognize these underserved individuals. Our local fire, rescue, and police/sheriff departments are encouraged to attend and the public is invited to honor them as well. Do you know of an act of heroism by one of our first responders? If so, nominate them for Firefighter or Officer of the Year. Please contact Commander Hank Wilson @ 229-887-9343.
